Urgent Care

We also try to provide urgent care for our clients. However, if you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to schedule an appointment, our veterinarians will try to work you into the schedule. You will be asked to come in at a certain time, and then we will work to get your pet seen as soon as possible between our regularly scheduled appointments.

There could be a wait time, but we try to see all urgent care cases as soon as we are available. We will have a technician or veterinary assistant check you and your pet into a room, get a history, and then provide you with the approximate amount of time the pet will be staying with us. We will also provide you with a written estimate of the services that are being recommended for the healthcare treatment of your pet problem.

You will be asked to sign the estimate and give us permission to perform the recommended treatment. Then, when your pet is discharged, you will be asked to provide payment for the treatments.

After-Hours Emergency Services

We do have a clinician available after hours for our regular patients. If it is after hours and you are an established client of Elko Veterinary Clinic and you need to speak with a veterinarian immediately, you can make an on-demand call on the Airvet app. You will be connected on a Facetime call with a veterinarian right away. You can download the app for free on the App Store or Google Play. Please make sure to select Elko Veterinary Clinic as your primary veterinarian so calls will be routed directly to us.

For non-urgent matters, please send a call request using the Airvet app. If you are not a current client of Elko Veterinary Clinic, please call your regular veterinarian. If you are unable to reach your regular veterinarian, please use the Airvet app to reach a veterinarian right away.

For those without a smartphone, please call (775) 388-8250 and leave a voicemail. One of our veterinarians will try to get back to you as soon as possible, but this will take longer than using Airvet.

If you are a non-client, please contact your regular veterinarian. You can leave a message with us, and we will return your call, if possible, based on the veterinarian’s availability. The needs of our regular Elko Veterinary Clinic patients must take priority.
